Football is probably the most prominent sport in the world. It is watched by millions and millions of people every year. Unfortunately, there is a growing feeling that football is not what it used to be back in the olden days. Is it about talent and good performance? Or is it now simply theatrical? Should young footballer enrol in a drama class in between football sessions? Surely, if you are going to spend most of your career diving, you might as well be convincing.
My first enigma, to tie in with the spirit of the World Cup, is very simple: Should diving be considered cheating? And if so, what should be the penalty (no pun intended)?
